Today, the President of the United States, Ryan Krinberg, signed Executive Order 417939, authorising the activation of the Domestic Emergency Response Office (DERO). DERO is the government's answer in the case of a catastrophic disaster on U.S. soil that overwhelms the capacity of local and state resources, in times such as times where Martial Law is declared, a natural disaster occurs etc.
Shortly on in the day, the U.S. Congress passed the Transportation Security Act, which thereby creates a new component of the National Office of Security Enforcement, - the Transportation Security Service. - which has authority over the security of the travelling public in the United States.
The TSS oversees security for highways, railroads, buses, mass transit systems, pipelines and ports but is chiefly concerned with aviation travel security, and employs screening and security officers in airports, armed Federal Air Marshals on flights, and mobile teams of dog handlers and explosive specialists.
